The Highland Hall Waldorf School was established in 1955 and is an Elementary and High School. The Waldorf education is based upon the research into child development which was conducted by Austrian educator and philosopher Rudolf Steiner (1861 – 1925).
The Waldorf approach recognizes the simple but thoughtful insight that children learn in distinctly different ways at different stages of their development. Highland Hall Waldorf School introduces and teaches in ways that correspond to the development needs of the growing child.
They have a strong academic curriculum that is based upon building and fostering children’s natural capacities at each stage of development. The classrooms for the children between PreK to 12th grade are full of light and life. The children are taught intellectual, physical, emotional, and spiritual development through distinctive and time-tested teaching methods.
The Highland Hall Waldorf School is a fast growing international educational movement which started almost 90 years ago. The Waldorf education has expanded to over 900 independent Waldorf schools worldwide.
The grounds are spread over an 11 acre campus, which also serves as an outdoor classroom. Highland Hall Waldorf School is accredited by not only WASC, but also the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America.
Waldorf schools are nonsectarian. Highland Hall Waldorf School is committed to equal-opportunity education and all families of all ethnic, social, and religious backgrounds are welcomed.
